Tagged

So I was tagged! My pic is of Herky and Kylie sitting in a window when they were still kittens! Now I don't think there is anyone left for me to tag!

I went to Deep Creek Lake on a ski trip with my family this past weekend. Unfortunately Jason could not go because he got scheduled for court. :-( It was still lots of fun. I drove down Wednesday night in a thunderstorm with lightning and everything, it was weird. During the night tho, it changed to snow. Ski conditions were great! We got in a lot of great runs! Thursday night we went tubing, that was a lot of fun. We had races. I came in second. Saturday we went to the state park to hike and see the waterfalls. It is the largest waterfall in MD. Then my cousin Jennifer and I drove around to try and find the playground I used to play at when I was a kid. It was still there! So we acted like little kids and played on it for a while.

Jason and I are going to DC this weekend since we have not celebrated Valentines Day yet. We are staying the night and going out for a nice dinner at the Melting Pot (best restaurant ever!) Then Sunday we have a hockey game to go to.

One more thing, we decided to where we are going to go for our honeymoon!!! Hawaii!!! Yay!! We are going to stay on the Island of Kauai.

Here are a couple pics of the ski trip:

This is me standing out on the frozen lake!

Yay!

We have a DJ! That was the last major thing we needed to book. Jenny came to our house last night so we could get the contract signed. She was really nice, we both like her a lot. She seems like she would be lots of fun!

It was also my Mom's birthday yesterday so my parents came over and I made dinner. It was really nice. I have been dying to make this dish I saw Giada make on Everyday Italian (that's my fave. cooking show!) I can't make it for Jason because he won't eat it, lol. It was salmon with lemon and capers and I made a pasta salad to go along with it. Jason got himself some brats. lol.

Tonight we are heading down to DC for a hockey game, so that should be fun! We have another one to go to on Saturday.

Updates...

So I successfully boycotted the Superbowl. Jason missed most of it as well because he was working. I really had no interest in watching it this year. I REALLY dislike the Steelers. I would have much preferred that my Ravens lost to the Titans the week before. My friend Tiffany and I had a really nice girls night. We had some wine and watched Pride and Prejudice (I just finished the book).

Nothing much new going on, we have chosen a DJ, so I believe that covers everyone that we need to book! Now it is down to all the little decisions that need to be made! Over the last week we went and registered at a couple different places. Target was fun, then we went to Bed Bath & Beyond (they followed us all over the place, it was ridiculous!!) And yesterday we went to Sears. We were kind of disappointed in what they had in the store, so I think we will add more to that online. I will get the Save the Dates out as soon as I can. I would have liked to have sent them by now, but the hotel is holding them up. They STILL don't have their rates up for October! I am going to call them again today.

We are heading out to Western MD for a long weekend soon. I am really looking forward to it. I love the mountains! It is so pretty out there. We go there every year for a ski trip with my parents, my Aunt and Uncle and another couple. I doubt Jason will ski, I will try and get him out there though! We are planning on going snow tubing too. That is a lot of fun! There is also a new ride, the mountain coaster. It looks really cool. We rented a big house with a hot tub. And the hot tub is outside so it is always an adventure hurrying through the snow and ice to get to it!!

New URL

So I kind of messed up the last blog we did, so I recreated it onto a new URL.

Anyway, Nothing much new the past couple days. Jason has just finished his overnight shift so he is pretty happy about that. I had yesterday off so I finally took down the Christmas decorations. It is always sad when you have to do that! Then we went out to dinner with our friend Dustin at the Steakhouse to watch the Caps Hockey game. (we won!)

Next week is going to be a mess here! With the inauguration, if they get HALF the people they are expecting to come they expect there to be like 30 mile backups to get into DC. They also plan on closing some bridges and part of the tunnel near Baltimore so that will push everyone on my direction to work so It isn't going to be fun! Jason has to work at the parade. They are busing them all down there and he has to be at the bus around 3am.

Sunday is a BIG day!! The Ravens play the Steelers in the Championship game!! I hope everyone watches and cheers really loud!!! It is going to be a tough game, but I think we can beat them! There are purple lights all over the place out here, particularly in downtown Baltimore, it is really neat.

Ok, I think that is all I got for now!!

Happy New Year!

Hello!!

So we hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Years! Ours was nice, busy, but nice. We Spent lots of time with family and got some really nice presents! New Years was spent at our friends Tiffany and Dustin's. There was one other couple there and we made dinner and spent a lot of time on the Wii! We all went to bed shortly after midnight and I made breakfast for everyone the next morning.

Wedding plans are back on, the holidays were so busy! We are working on finalizing our guest list and we booked the photographer. SO the main thing left to book is a DJ! Mom and I are going to a bridal show at the end of the month to look for one.

So I have some other exciting news! It looks like we will be making a trip out to Iowa in the next couple months! We need to get our engagement photos taken and as our photographer is out there, we are going to make a long weekend hopefully at the end of March.

I think that is all the news I have for now!!

Been A Long Time!

Ok, so I know I said I would update this frequently... so I am gonna get my butt in gear and start doing it. lol

So Jason and I haven't been doing anything to exciting, we have been going to some hockey games and now we are just getting ourselves ready for Christmas. Back in October I took a long weekend with my friend Tiffany to Punta Cana to go to a friends wedding, that was a really fun trip. In November Mom, Dad and Ashley came out to visit and see our new house! We kept pretty busy they got to see where the wedding is going to take place and we went down to DC for a hockey game and to go to the Holocaust Museum. Then that sunday we had an early Thanksgiving dinner with my parents. Our Thanksgiving was very nice, Jason had to work until 3 and then we went to my Grandmother's for dinner.

I think that about sums up the last few months. I will get some new pictures on here soon.

Wedding planning is coming along well. We are taking a little break from it till after the holidays. As soon as I get information from the hotel I will get some rooms blocked off and send out the save-the-dates so everyone will have the info. Also if anyone did not get the e-mail we have new wedding website the address is jasonandjulie1010.brides.com . The interactive map is really neat!

Ok, I think that is about all I have for now. I promise I will try and keep up with this better!!

Love you all!

Julie

Vacation 08

We went to the Outer Banks, NC last week for vacation. It was lots of fun, and the weather was great. It was pretty hot though. Occasionally you could smell the smoke from the wildfires in Raleigh. It rained on Monday, so that made for a good shopping day for us girls! Most of the time was spent on the beach getting some sun. Jason had a lot of fun boogie boarding with My uncle and cousins. The waves were pretty rough and he wiped out a couple times, but came up laughing. One morning we went fishing at the inlet, no one really caught anything to keep. My dad caught an Alligator Gar fish, man did that thing have some teeth!! I kept myself entertained by playing with the hermit crabs! We went to Hooters one night for dinner, it was trivia night and our team won! On another morning the boys went golfing. That pretty much sums up our week, I wish we were still there!!!
